"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning, but for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood."
The early years are considered the most vital period for the learning and development in a child and witnesses a rapid development of a child's brain which paves way for lifelong learning. Every child is entitled to a solid foundation and great support from preschool teachers to fulfill their potential. Our young learners are stimulated, challenged and supported in a positive and child- friendly learning environment.
An experiential early years education program is followed which is based on a well structured TeachNext curriculum for pre-school and pre-primary classes. It lays emphasis on children's intrinsic quality of curiosity which leads to creativity in the later years.
Our well designed and integrated curriculum supports and extends the innate curiosity of all children and develops the attitudes and skills necessary to gain an understanding of the world around. Through our specially designed curriculum, the students experience the joy of learning, gain a deep understanding of the important concepts, learn to accept personal responsibility for actions, decisions and are guided by a motivated, well-trained and nurturing teacher. Students learn in a caring environment where their views and ideas are freely expressed and valued. Learning to learn approach promotes critical thinking and creativity, encourages research-based classroom transactions and teaches respect for individual differences.
The curriculum is completely learner centric, enquiry-based approach to learning. The curriculum content and clearly defined learning outcomes make it compatible with the educational eco-system.
The Secondary and Senior - Secondary School curriculum further build on the skills and knowledge acquired by the students in the earlier classes. The curriculum is delivered through projects and experiential learning modules, to give students a deeper opportunity for engagement with the subject matter. We look towards identifying and supporting each student's potential and recognizing ones strengths, as well as building their unique capacities. We aim to create a fine balance between academic excellence, artistic expression along with practical skills supporting the emotional and social development of all the students. Life skills like social skills, thinking skills - critical, creative, decision making and problem solving, emotional skills and attitudes and values are embedded in the curriculum. Our ultimate aim is to help children become autonomous learners. Communication skills is a key area we constantly address for our growing learners, both through internal program, as well as by partnering with external experts.
