Vivekanand School has partnered with Sashakt–The Ovarian Cancer Foundation for creating awareness about Ovarian Cancer. Sashakt is a response to appalling lack of awareness and apparent dearth of organizations working for Ovarian Cancer awareness in India. It is a non-profit organization with a sole aim to make every woman in India sashakt (empowered) with knowledge and support to diagnose and find the battle of ovarian cancer. School has undertaken various campaigns like Ask Your Mom Campaign and Zeal For Teal Campaign in partnership with Sashakt through which students have empowered thousands of women.
A philanthropic initiative by Vivekanand School, is a response to the social calling that caters to the hardships and sufferings of the underprivileged and special people. Udaan is a non- profit Organisation that works for the welfare of the special beings who are mentally challenged, affected by multiple disabilities or are autistic. At Udaan, we help them to uncover their latent creativity to become independent, productive and self-reliant members of the society. A group of experienced and caring trainers train them and offer them therapeutic interventions, vocational training, occupational and skills training, music and dance and regular academic program. We encourage them to become as independent as possible. We design a curriculum that recognizes and respects their innate skills and abilities and nurture them in a compassionate environment.
Vivekanand School conducts free-of-cost English Booster Classes thrice a week for underprivileged children from JJ Cluster Area adjacent to school. It aims to pave the way for economically weak children in reaching their dreams and acquiring their aspirations. The school offers opportunity for them to acquire the knowledge of English and demolish the language barrier coming in the way of the destination.
Vivekanand School conducts free-of-cost self-defense classes for girls from JJ Cluster area every Sunday. Girls from the underprivileged backgrounds are most prone to molestation and these classes are started with the intentions to make them self-determined, self- sufficient and self- reliant. Different kinds of self-defense tactics are being taught to them like Martial Art, Taekwondo and others.
In the pursuit of reaching to the hearts of small children living the life of hardships and bringing smiles on their pallor, Vivekanand School organizes Sunday Movie Show in its large dimensioned Auditorium. The charming and innocent faces not only view the inspiring movies but also experience the comfortable and luxurious ambience with refreshments in between. The auditorium flickers with joyful chuckling and tittering of around 200 kids. A quiz round is also arranged to supplement the understanding and analyzing skills of Kids.
Dream…A single dream is more powerful than thousand realities. We all have our life to pursue, our own kind of dreams to weave, and we all have the power to make wishes come true, as long as we believe in ourselves. But what about the dreams of those who are struggling to fulfill their basic needs of food, shelter and clothing every day? Do they also have a right to see dreams? LIGHT UP A LIFE CAMPAIGN aims at only one target - Making dreams a reality and our students' everyday little feats contributes to lots and our passionate efforts are making momentous difference. The campaign engages not only Vivians but the entire Vivekanand family, to be the cause of many smiles. Vivians on their educational trips to Slum areas, Orphanages, Old age homes and others try to recognize the dreams of the individuals residing there and think out of the box to turn those dreams to reality. It is an effort to offer our gratitude for the various bounties we have been bestowed with, by the Almighty God.
A magnanimous initiative sown by Vivekanand School to educate the Vivians about their social responsibilities for caring about others and joining their hands to bestow happiness in the lives of downtrodden kids. Holding this spirit Social Responsibility Day is observed every month where the little Vivians share a variety of materials with the member from lesser privileged part of the society. All the Vivians zealously lend their hands in contributing their bit in the form of donating toys, stationeries, eatables and many more things to their counterparts.
In the constant endeavour to reach to each and every corner of the society and uphold the treasure of our tradition, Vivekanand School tries to illuminate the life of each craftsman and artisan and even inculcate the value of compassion in the young minds. Under this maneuver local craftsmen are allowed to place their stalls inside the campus at the given area and children can buy their handicrafts like earthen Diyas from them. Through this pious initiative these artisans get an opportunity to reach out to thousands of children under one roof, thus adding and enhancing their daily emolument, paving way for better Diwali for them and their families.
Vivekanand School has also supports several NGOs including Goonj, Helpage India, Connecting Dreams Foundation and Sarthak Prayas. Various projects initiated by these NGOs are undertaken by Vivians that help them in understanding the grasroot problems of the nation and be part of the soulutions in their pursuit of creating a liveable country.
